Muktinath is one of the most ancient Hindu temple of God Vishnu. Many people also claim the shrine to be a Buddhist shrine. The idol is of gold and is tall enough to compare with a man. The most suiable time time to visit Muktinath is from March to June, as the weather conditions would not be safe enough to travel in other months. There is a hot spring nearby Jwala Devi Temple, which is traditionally believed by the worshipers as the only place on earth where one can find all "five tatwos" or the five elements out of which this world is made of, according to the Hindu tradition: fire, water, sky, earth and air at the same place together in their own and distinct form.
There are two ways to get to Muktinath from either take a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and hike for 7-8 hours from Jomsom or trek all the way from Pokhara through Kali-Gandaki valley, which takes 7/8 days.
