Helambu:
Helambu is valley which about 72 kms north of Kathmandu. It is very famous for its natural beauty and wonderful climate with the superb views of the magnificiant snow-covered mountains like Gosainthan, Langtang Lirung and Jugal Himal. The area covers typical highland Sherpa villages along with beautiful Rhododendron forests. This region extends from the north to Taramarang to the Gosainkund Lake and the lower Jugal Himal from the north. The valley is approached from the Trishuli River Valley, north of Kathmandu.

Kakani:
Kakani is another good location to have breath-taking sceanic views of the snow-caped mountains. It is only couple hours north-west of Kathmandu, where, one can have the plesant views of a vast collection of majestic peaks stretching from Ganesh Himal to the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The Rhododendrons growing wild on the mountain slopes begin to bloom in late winter and stay blooming for several months, which adds up more charm in the area.

Dhulikhel:
Dhulikhel (1440m.) is a small town with a long history. Records show that it has been around for more than 500 years. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping title roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues everywhere. You will think you have wandered into a cultural theme park.

temples which are adored with profuse wood carvings. The Gokhureswar Mahadev temple, a 30 minutes walk to the eastern part of town, is a peaceful and scenic spot. The Bhagawati temple is situated at a height in the western part of Dhulikhel and dominates the skyline. From here, you can get a beautiful vista of the town and surrounding areas.
There are many vintage points in Dhulikhel which offers a panorama of the Himalaya that will leave you spellbound. Looking out over low hills and valleys, the mountains rise up in an extended arc stretching from the far left to the far right. More than 20 Himalayan Peaks can be seen in all their glory. You should get up early in the morning to watch the first rays of the sun hit the summits and their colors change. Sunset views are equally spectacular.
Namo Buddha:
The place where the Buddha offered his body to the hungry mother tigress. It is renowned for Shakyamuni's act of compassion upon encountering a hungry mother tigress he offered her his body so that she could feed her cubs. There are a couple monasteries and one ancient stupa erected nearby in which one can make offerings, pray, and light butter lamps. This sight can be reached in a couple hours by jeep or for those who prefer a half-day hike it gives beautiful views of the local villages and lush scenery.

Daman:
Daman is a small hill-station, located on the Tribhuvan Highway in between Kathmandu and the town to Birgunj. It is situated 80 kilometers south- west of Kathmandu at an altitude of about 2400 meters. For the view of the Breath taking grandeur of the world's highest peaks extending in one glittering are from far-east of Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) there is no better place than Daman. There is a view tower fitted with long range telescopes. It is definitely a worth visiting.
Daman can be reached in four hours from Kathmandu because of mountain highway. However it worth visiting the area after watching the landscape of the Himalayas with having luxurious accommodation and cuisine of International standard there if one wish to stay overnight.

Kodari (Nepal Tibet Border):
Kodari lies on the Nepal-China border. Besides being a place of stunning natural beauty, it has an exotic history going back to ancient times as the starting point of the trans- Himalayan caravan route, the Nepalese equivalent of silk road. Merchants bound for Lhasa would head north from Kodari and cross the Kuti pass before turning east to begin the perilous journey over the Tibetan plateau. This border village is still an important trading center between Tibet and Nepal. The 144 km Arniko Highway connecting Kathmandu with Kodari passes through magnificent river gorges and splendid mountain scenery. Three kilometers short of Kodari is the famous hot water spring called Tatopani, meaning hot water. People come here from all over Nepal to bathe in the hot water for its therapeutic value.

Gorkha:
Gorkha is situated on a small hillock at an attitude of about 1000 m. The scenic hill- town with a great historical significance also offers panoramic view of the majestic Himalaya. It is the place where the great king Prithvi Narayan Shah was born, who unified the kingdom of Nepal during eighteenth century.
The hill-town (a small kingdom then) was founded by king Drabya Shah in 1560 A.D. During the rulling time of king Ram Shah (1604-1641 A.D.), the small kingdom of Gorkha earned a good reputation for giving proper justice for it's people.

Janakpur:
Janakpur is named after the legandary king Janak (father of hindu goddess Sita), which was the capital of ancient Mithila.
According to the great Hindu epic Ramayana, it is mentioned that the Hindu goddess Sita was born here, who got married with Hindu god Rama. This holy city has become a great piligrimage site for Hindus today.
The most sacred sites are the Janaki Mandir - dedicated to goddess Sita, the Ram Sita bibaha(marriage) mandir - built over the spot where Ram and Sita were said to be married, Ram Mandir - dedicated to god Ram and the holy pond Dhanush Sagar. Hundreds of Indian devotees come here every year to pay their respect to the goddess at this temple.
Besides the religious importance, Janakpur is also the center of attraction for the revival of the ancient Mithila arts and crafts (paintings depicting figures from Hindu mythology in abstract forms, sometimes resembling a mandala).

Namche Bazar:
Namche Bazar is located at 3,440 metres or 11,286 ft. above sea-level. It is a very famous village in the Khumbu region of Nepal and is the gateway to the high snow-caped mountains. Almost all of the trekkers to the Khumbu region usually visit Namche Bazar. The village has many lodges and shops. Visitors are likely stay one or two night, for altitude acclimatization. One can find almost everything required for trekking although the prices are higher than in Kathmandu.
The administrative center for the Khumbu region is located just above Namche, where the visitors will find many Nepalese officials, a police check post and a bank, and Nepalese Army-Barracks and the head-quarters of Sagarmatha National Park (a natural World Heritage site) are located almost at the top of the village from where one can have magnificient views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam (6,856m/22,493') and other majestic peaks right before dawn, if the weather permits.

There are two internet cafes, a German bakery (provides western food including pizza) and a luxuary hotel with the only descent restaurant in the region, so the visitors don't need to worry for having good rests, better foods and communications.

Muktinath:
Muktinath is located at an altitude of 3,710 meters, at the summit of Dhaulagiri in the remote district of Mustang in Nepal. It is a sacred place for the both Hindus and Buddhists.The Hindus call the place as Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of salvation", and the Buddhists call it as Chumming Gyasta, means 108 waterspouts in Tibetan. It is said that the founder of Tibetan Buddhism Guru Rimpoche (or Padmasambhava) had meditated here, while he was on the way to Tibet.
This holy shrine is one of the eight most sacred shrines for Hindus, the other seven are as; Srirangam, Sri Mushnam, Tirupati, Naimisaranvam, Thottadri, Pushkaram and Badrinath.

Lumbini (A World Heritage Site):
Lumbini, the place where the Buddha was born in 623 BC, is situated in the Terai plains of southern Nepal. The nativity site is marked by a stone pillar erected by Indian Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC.
Listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO, Lumbini is being developed with international support as the supreme Buddhist pilgrimage and a symbol of world peace. The sacred garden where the Buddha was born converges on the Ashoka Pillar which carries an inscription identifying the spot as the birthplace. To one side of the pillar is the newly renovated Mayadi Temple which houses a bas relief deplicting the nativity. The puskarni pond, where Queen Mayadevi – the diety’s mother – had taken a bath before giving birth to him, lies nearby.

Gosainkunda Lake:
Gosainkunda is one of the most sacred places of pilgrimage in Nepal, which is situated at an altitude of about 4360m. above sea-level and is surrounded by high mountains on the north and east. Beside being the most sacred lake it is also one of the most picturesque spot in Nepal. There are other nine famous lakes in the region, some of them are as; Saraswati kunda, Bhairav kunda, Sourya kunda and Ganesh kunda. In the month of August, during janai purnima (a ritual day for Hindus) Thousands of Hindu pilgrims come here to take holy bathe in the lake. There is a large rock in the center of the lake, which resembles the remains of Lord Shiva.
